GHA pleased to support Housing Design Awards

Good Homes Alliance is pleased to support the UK’s longest-running housing awards, set up by government in 1948 and now in their 71st year To date there have been more than 1,000 winning schemes. The HDA archive of previous winners is the largest such resource in the world. Run as a social enterprise, the Housing Design Awards invest income into the analysis and promotion of ideas to improve and expand the country’s housing stock. BEIS inquiry into energy efficiency

This inquiry by BEIS (The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee) will examine whether the Government’s current delivery of energy efficiency improvements within residential, commercial and public-sector buildings is consistent with meeting targets set out in the Clean Growth Strategy, and our fourth and fifth carbon budgets. This inquiry is also likely to focus on action to upgrade the energy efficiency of fuel-poor homes and the Government’s work to drive demand for energy efficiency measures within able to pay households. GHA overheating project workshop in Bristol, Monday 25th February

The Good Homes Alliance are running a project to develop guidance for local authorities on how to assess and mitigate overheating risk in new residential development (https://goodhomes.org.uk/research/early-stage-overheating-guidance). Following background research and surveys with local authorities and designers, the project is now in its final stages, aiming for completion in early March.
