Alex Lawrie is a founder member of Stepping Stones and Cornerstone Housing Co-operatives and Footprint Workers Co-operative, Alex moved to Somerset in 1999 to start the Ecological Land Co-operative and UpStart Services (which later became Somerset Co-operative Services CIC, Somerset’s co-operative development body). He went on to found Somerset Co-operative Community Land Trust, Go-op Limited and became a director of The Development Co-operative. His work in Somerset Co-operative Services has included work on housing, transport, co-operative share issues, secondary co-operatives and co-operative development infrastructure.
