The TCPA works to challenge, inspire and support people to create healthy, sustainable and resilient places that are fair for everyone. To inform what they do, TCPA strive to draw on the practical idealism of their founders and continue to recognise the huge potential that the planning system has as a powerful tool to transform places and people’s lives. But they also recognise that the ‘art and science’ of planning, and their work, goes way beyond the formal planning system and recognises the multi-dimensional nature of place-making.
In practice, their work is a mixture of campaigning, publishing research, acting as a ‘critical friend’, providing training, influencing policy and decision-makers and enabling action. Thousands of people engage with the workshops, conferences, webinars and seminars we run each year. And we seek to work at both the national and local levels.
TCPA is a partner of Good Homes Alliance, and a supporter of our Net Zero Planning Policy Hub.
