Larry Tate of the Good Homes Alliance took part in a roundtable discussion on advancing energy efficiency in buildings, hosted by IEMA, with Luke Murphy MP, chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Climate Change.
During the discussion, Larry reinforced key points from the recent letter advocating for a stronger Future Homes Standard. These included the need for mandatory thermal performance testing, highlighting evidence that new homes often fall short of current building regulations, and the importance of addressing skills gaps in the construction sector to ensure higher energy efficiency standards are met. We are following up with IEMA and Luke on some of the key discussion points.
Ben Goodwin, Director of Policy and Public Affairs, IEMA, wrote a blog post on the key talking points.
