It’s now December and I hope you are keeping well. This winter season, at the Good Homes Alliance CIC we are inviting our members and wider community to reflect on, and share, what we need for homes to bring comfort and joy.

Many people today live in fuel poverty and trying to keep our homes warm is expensive and hard. We know our housing stock needs improving and whilst the budget was announced last week, we are still waiting on Warm Homes information and what that means for upgrading homes – hopefully making them comfortable and joyful.

We also want new homes to be comfortable for residents all year long – be that in these cold months or the hotter summers we will continue to experience. This consideration of thermal comfort we know our followers consider too – designing measures to reach good levels, monitoring building performance through data/tech and listening to people’s lived experience.

If you can take a moment to reflect on comfort and joy, and make a little video (a tiding?) or share Comfort & Joy socials with your message this month that would be great. Together we want to keeping making the case for good healthy homes.

Finally we love seeing you in person too – members, our partners joined us at our AGM and festive social on 10th December, and our next in-person event is our annual conference coming up in on 28th January at the British Library in London!
