Summary:

On Monday 1st December (14:00-15:30), the Building Performance Network, a programme of the Good Homes Alliance, is hosting the 2nd meeting of a new Residential Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) working group, open to GHA/BPN members and invited experts.

The aim of the working group is to develop a new framework for delivering POE in new residential development and builds upon previous work by the GHA/BPN in creating a range of BPE guidance*, model employer’s requirements, and supporting the development of a British Standard for BPE (BS40101). The working group will support/complement work by others including Urban Design Learning and the GLA.

An opening online roundtable in October 2025, supported by Knauf Energy Solutions, brought together over 50 building performance evaluation (BPE) practitioners, housing developers, local authorities, RSLs, architects and consultants from within the GHA membership and wider industry, and invited industry experts including GHA Chair Dr. Tom Dollard, Dr. Kerry Mashford OBE (chair and co-author of BS40101), Prof. David Glew (Leeds Beckett University) and James Halsall (GLA/Royal Docks).

Going forwards we ask that all participants support the working group activities by joining the Good Homes Alliance, which runs the Building Performance Network. Under one single membership you get access to both the GHA and BPN networks/workstreams, so great value if you are passionate about building performance and delivering truly sustainable, high quality housing! Contact richard@goodhomes.org.uk to discuss membership or sponsoring the working group.
