Summary

Join the Good Homes Alliance and the Building Performance Network, a programme of the GHA, on Wednesday 8th July in London for our 2026 Summer Symposium, kindly hosted by PRP Architects. This focused afternoon event will bring together GHA members, leading experts, clients and BPE pioneers to demystify Residential Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) and explore practical ways to understand how homes and places perform in use. Through case studies, lessons learned and innovation, the event will show how complex building performance issues can be made simpler, clearer and more actionable for project teams and decision-makers.

Programme

The symposium will explore residential POE from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives, combining practical insight with real-world application.

The first session will focus on the human side of POE across retrofit and new build projects, including client objectives, resident feedback, surveys and lessons learned from lived experience. It will consider how these insights can improve future projects and housing outcomes.

Following a networking break, the second session will look at emerging tools and practical technologies that support POE and Building Performance Evaluation (BPE). This will include monitoring systems, smart data, measurement approaches and how quantitative evidence can be translated into useful insight.

With a smaller-format audience, the event is designed to encourage discussion, networking and practical learning, while attracting clients interested in commissioning or developing their own POE strategies.

We’d like to thank Saint-Gobain for sponsoring the event, in association with their QUB system.
